I never let it get that hot, when the temp rises too much I close the lid
and put it into hibernation :)

Hasn't been started yet as we are in the planning stage but I guess round
about May time it will be usable. We will be able to use it in the Winter
time too as we are having underfloor heating installed in it :D

I had to read that twice to sort out the furniture :^),
but yes. I thought about getting one to put my keyboard and mouse on, but
found that the sofa arm is fine for the keyboard, and the mouse just sits on
the cushion next to me.

I one I am being bought will be ideal for me, as I sit in an armchair in
the evenings with my laptop, not a sofa. It's not your usual type of
armchair either - sort of Swedish style if you see what I mean?
