Feeling less throttled now.

Within the last hour PN have upped my stable rate from 3000 to 4000 kbps.
The BT engineer visited yesterday and modified the wiring done by BT back in
the early 1980s to put in a phone extension line. They didn't know of
broadband back in those days, and it's not so long ago they reckoned that
56 k was about the fastest you could get coming down those copper wires. He
said that the way it had been done wasn't conducive to getting a good MaxDSL
BB connection. He the re-tested it and reckoned it should be good up to
6Mbps synching. Despite having a disconnection yesterday evening and one
earlier this evening they've increased the stable rate. So I'm now getting
speeds a little in excess of 3100 kbps. I wonder if it will last longer
than the 16 hours it did last time?

Well that didn't last either. When I booted up router at 08-00 it's back at
3000 kbps and measured download speed back around 2000 kbps . Doh.
