OH had Valve Replacement Surgery last May (2005)... followed by Pacemaker
early 2006. Pacemaker starts te heart up if beats go down to 60 p.minute...
He has felt rough and worn out all along. Due to slip-ups in communcation
between Hostpital surgeon, G.P. and so on mean that he has not been given
the tablets he should have been on all this time ! It is now revealed that
his heart has been going up to 117 beats p.minute. !! The pacemaker only
works as a kick-start at 60. This figure of 117 was it seems put into some
records several months ago but the lack of communication between departments
(deplorable) has meant he knew nothing of it until check-up earlier this
week. !!! He's been put on Digoxin, started with 2 massive dosage first
day, then one per day for life. How much anxiety to him, me and the family
could have been spared if things - hospital to hospital and
interdepartmental- had been dealt with months ago. I feel very upset.

however it seems that it was within the hospital itself, and one fault lay
with a certain medic. secretary failure to put on records. Certain amount
of wrangling as to whose opinion was the valid one -- then in the end our
own GP who'd had no notification chased it all up a bit. It's al been a
hosp. to hosp. to GP lack of comunication... Other notes from last year are
still floating in the ether, somewhere. OH seems to be a bit brighter and
less agitated today. Perhaps it is settling down. Thanks.

Sorry about that. But bodies go wrong and one can't expect them to be
always put right. We have got into the habit of expecting doctors to
cure all our ills, and they can't.

That's awful Marg, but not uncommon, unfortunately.
You'd think in this age of modern technie stuff they could transmit from one
place to another.
