PowerPoint Techy Query

Jerry Atrick sent me two files, Cafi.pps and NewYear.pps, which would on
the face of it appear to be PowerPoint slide shows.
I couldn't get either of them to open in Microsoft's PowerPoint Viewer 97
or 2003 nor in Open Office Presentation which usually handles these files
perfectly well.
To view them I had to re-install the full-blown Power Point in Microsoft
Office 2000.
I have a suspicion that the problem may be that the files are Macromedia
Flash files within a PowerPoint file but I'd welcome any other suggestions.

Yip they have Flash embedded but views ok in the PPS viewer I have here..

Do you have the latest flash player? Other than that I have little idea
why the don't work on your system.

Hmm as far as the first example goes, after eventually having to circumvent
half my security software I think someone other than a monkey is taking the

Yes will run on my Office 2K Pro + SP3 but the embedded flash\hotdrink.swf
macromedia script may/will upset some of your realtime monitors.
In the unlikely event you haven't registered the ActiveX plugin in Office
2003 and d/l the latest Macromedia player this might explain the problem?
if it still fails hopefully someone with Office 2003 conveniently loaded can
assist.
Sorry but Office 97 is too antique for me to resurrect from my archives (so
old I think I've stored it on 8" acetate... RAMAC model II... or even
Edison drum perhaps...)

Incidentally shouldn't it be "Iced Coffee" and not "Ice Coffee"?
and obviously the joke/connection with a certain London(or Sacremento)
Vietnamese restaurant escapes me? Presumably some ex patron didn't like
their coffee?
