Don't know how long I will be able to contain my excitement.
Looking at the amount of ice in there, the tides around Britain may have risen
significantly by midday.

Oh yes, I remember the defrosting ordeal, the bowl of hot water, the hair
dryer, wringing out the cloths, the soaking wet floor.

A tip that might come in useful ................... whilst you are waiting
for the big defreeze to finish - go get some glycerine. When you have dried

Isn't dynamite just glycerine absorbed in sand?

the freezer completely - coat it with a very thin layer of
glycerine............. I know it is mucky but I found it easier to do using
my hands (mind you glycerine is good for the hands).
The next time you defrost the ice will just fall away :)

I buy glycerine from Boots it's their own brand and quite cheap.

Any chemist sells it the bigger chemists will probably sell it cheaper
though :)

two Very hot-water bottles in, with a small towel under them. The latter
saved some mopping-up.
