Looks like we're back to the XP system for transferring retail copies of

Oh good!
Just as well!!!
I can understand that M$ don't want people to use/transfer an *OEM*
(Original Equipment manufacturer) Version of windoze (as is normally
supplied with a PC) to other (subsequent) PCs, but if a customer
(such as myself) has *bought* & paid for a *Legit*, Retail, non-pirate
Version, then I think (as do lots of other people in a similar
situation) that it *should* be OK to transfer it to subsequent PCs
(though of course it's very difficult (if not impossible) for M$ to
make sure that you don't *also* leave it & use it on the other,
previous PCs)
It's a pity they are being so petty about Installing & Running the
basic, lower end, Home Versions of Vista on/in Virtual Machines though,
cos the use of Virtual machines (both micro$oft's own VPC & 3rd Party
stuff, such as Parallels & VMWare etc,) is becoming much more popular
these days & also, now, with decent Processors & RAM & Hard Disks
available is much more practical now, as well.
I have my WinXP Installed on several Virtual Machines (using a mixture
of VPC, Parallels & VMWare) & it works great!
It's *very* useful!
