Booted up this morning to find the old router is synching at more than 5000
kbps and Plusnet have increased my stable rate from 3000 to 4000 kbps. :)
But then download speed is still 2900 kbps - I suppose I'll have to wait a
wee bit longer for that to catch up. :(

Well that didn't last long did it?
Stable rae was 4000 kbps all yesterday 'til 01-00 this morning. Just booted
up and it's back at 3000 kbps now. Router synching at 4896 kbps and
measured download speed back down to 2600 kbps. Suppose I'll have to wait
another 10 days to get it up again. :(
Well at least I know what 3500 kbps feels like now. :)

Sue...
Oh stop whingeing - you don't know you're well off! ;)

This is true - just got back from shopping and booted up - download speed
(measure on PN) gave 3599.3 kbps :)

My speed's back down to 238kbps this morning. I do believe it's all to
do with thunder and rain yesterday. It's beginning to look as if any bad
weather coincides with a ridiculously low synch which immediately
affects the throughput speed on this blimming Max system. Must be a
fault somewhere along the wires but just how do I get BTw to get off
their beam ends and check my line out? PN just say well that's Maxdsl
for you (I might have paraphrased a wee bit there, but that's the gist
of it), and I already reported the line faulty once to BT and they just
tested remotely and say everything's fine. Well it isn't!! :-(((

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
If you do a speed test at:

They tell you these speed ranges:

For 250kbps End Users speeds between 50 - 250kbps.
For 500kbps End Users speeds between 100 - 500kbps.
For 1000kbps End Users speeds between 200 - 1000kbps.
For 2000kbps End Users speeds between 400 - 2000kbps.

If you are on a package which only claims to be < 2000 kbps then you won't
get anywhere with BT, but if the package you are on is quoted as 2000 kbps
or above then they should be w*rking their socks off to sort it out for you.
I would have thought that if you have been MaxDSL'd then you fall into the
latter category.
