Drove out to Lathkill Dale this afternoon - just the other side of Bakewell.

My very first serious girlfriend went to a Training College at Great
Longstone, just up the road from Bakewell - gues what nickname I gave her.
:) It didn't last much longer after that though :(

Bakewell is a refined place it doesn't have tarts - but it does have
puddings though. :-)

They are, but Bakewell is famous for its Bakewell Puddings. I expect Mr=20
Kipling would know more about Bakewell tarts - anyone know his email=20

My mum used to make a Bakewell tart every Sunday, icing on the top and
always soggy in the middle! Never been able to find anything like it :-)

No, if we all liked the same thing the world would be a dull place :-)

This one is an old kind of Roman bridge construction - with waterfall
behind. Unusual for this time of year, 'cos well before May the river
disappears and flows underground past this part. But we've had lots of
rain recently. Not really a Roman Bridge though - it's from around the 18th
and 19th century when thet jdid a lot of tin mining in the dale. The river
was artificial - fabricated to supply water to the wheels to provide power
for the mining industry.

Well he seemed to follow me for ½ mile there and ½ mile back. Strange how
he always came back and settled on the path in front of me. As you say
possibly an undercover agent watching me. :)

Did too! Got chatting with a fellow walker - he had a digital camera and
was visiting home from Brazil where he is a teacher. Exchanged a few views
on computing etc. Enjoyable afternoon stoll.
