Neil Gibbons...
Way back in October I was finally made redundant and I was very depressed
and ashamed. Silver Surfers and my family were very supportive and I thank

everyone that support. I was not easy to live with as I am a very insecure
person at the best of times. Being 52 nearly 53 years of age I did wonder if
anyone would ever be interested in employing me again. Well I applied for
five positions all of whom gave me an interview, three of whom offered me
work, one of whom will offer me work in the new year and one that I didn't
get but I have been put onto their reserve list for six months to be offered
work if a further vacancy occurs.
I trialled two of the jobs both of which I found to be unsuitable, then
yesterday I started a full-time role that, fingers crossed, could be more
permanent.

Aries...
congratulations on starting the new job Neil and well done on finding one
that suits you.

Rabbit...
Well done Neil, that is something you probably wouldn't have done at an
earlier age, you would have stuck out the unsuitable ones.

I have lost my fear of interviews and I am more hopeful of the future. I

Great stuff. That's the way.
Having cracked these big one's you will find it much easier to find a
comfortable place back on the treadmill :-) Go get 'em.

still have two further options open to me in the New Year. Salary wise I
have lost out but I am beginning to realise that money may not be the only
important thing in life.

Tyke...
Brilliant news Neil :-)

I realised about money a while back ;-)

Neil, why don't you just b****** off abroad for six months, come back in
as an illegal and get all the state handouts and live a life of luxury
:-)

Foxy at w**k...
lol Oh dear WO I thought you were being rude then for a moment lol

Splodge...
So did I Jen.
Good luck Neil - feel free to post at any time.

I hope Neil didn't think so... I went through it at 55 and was out of
work for 9 months.... I was on the point of taking my own advice :-)

Foxy at w**k...
I can imagine WO

Hope things turn out well for you Neil.

Aries...
So very true - I entirely agree with you. Take care and all the best for
the future :)
