Got a 200gb dvd recorder yesterday to go with the new LCD TV

I'd tell you how mine is daisy chained with the video and telly but mine is
only an El Cheapo out of ASDA and got no HD though I might see one in the
sales too :-)

plenty of wine down this Christmas and see if that makes it clearer.

I know it's against the unwritten male laws but you have tried RTFM or STFW

RTFM ? yes but tends to make things worse, My usual method is to
just keep pressing buttons and see what happens.

Got it to record and play back yesterday, fast fwd. etc. also a timed
record. I cannot at the moment tell if it is recording analog or
digital - digital I suspect because if I go back to the telly it has
changed to analog.

You got it easy, you should try it when your telly signal doesn't use
*Standard European Channel Numbers* then you'd know real *fun* :-)
